DHL Global Forwarding/Freight Syria made its first step into Humanitarian Logistics in 2003 by providing its services to UN Agencies and NGOs during the humanitarian operations in Iraq (2003-2005), in Lebanon (2006), Iraqi refugees in Syria (2007-2010) and the affected Syrians in drought areas (2010-2011).
In 2012, in response to the crisis in Syria, the company set up dedicated Aid & Relief Departments (Transportation, Warehousing, Customs Clearance, Packing, Supply) that aimed to handle all humanitarian logistics operations needed by the UN Agencies and NGOs, these departments are still operating today.
